The kiln structure will include the following features and design:

- The kiln will be constructed with a welded structural steel frame with a continuously

welded steel outer shell (3/16" to meet NFPA 86). The kiln will be designed to limit the

number of welds on the structure.

- The steel shell will be dye penetrated and leak tested prior to refractory installation. The

kiln will be tested in a similar manner as the previous kiln, with similar criterion for tightness.

- The kiln shell will have couplings installed for all field devices.

- The kiln exterior shell and support members will be painted per the Purchasers

specifications.

- The steel structure will be designed to receive compressive seals that will be located on

the kiln fixed hearth.

- The kiln structure will be supported by elevated support legs.

- The kiln and support structure will be designed with a flange around the perimeter to

allow integration into a dry room.

A ceramic coating will be installed on the inside of the shell. This coating

will minimize the oxidation of the metal. This precaution ensures that you

have a clean operation and extends the shell life.
