EXPANSION UNIT: Micrometric expansion unit AR 340 NC. The honing tool expands either at a constant expansion speed or at a constant expansion pressure.

NC CONTROL FUNCTIONS: Start-up automation for all diameters from 5 mm, which can cut cycle times by up to 50 percent or more. Dwell time 0 to 60 seconds for fine finishing. Automatic stop when the desired diameter is reached, with automatic return to the starting size. Diameter correction in steps of 0.0001 or 0.001 mm, even during honing. 99 programs can be stored. Stock removal, expansion speed and pressure, honing time, diameter and part count are displayed during honing.

ADVANTAGES: Honing tools expand evenly and parallel around the whole circumference, so bores with interrupted cuts or keyways can be machined without problems. All materials that can be honed can be machined with the same tool.
